In 2020, the country received 1,000 tons of raw and semi-processed silver (an increase of 1.3% compared to 2019).
The main share of silver mining and production is accounted for by Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, Kazzinc LLP, Polymetal Eurasia LLP, and KazMinerals Group. For example, according to the results of the work for 2020, Kazakhmys Corporation LLP produced 262 tons of silver in ingots and granules, which is 17.32% more than in the same period last year.
According to Asset Adakhayev, director of the center for industry development QazIndustry, the share of MMC in GDP last year was 8-9%, there is a slight change in the direction of growth compared to last year. In 2019, it was 7-9%. Most of the metallurgical industry includes the production of non-ferrous and precious metals, including the production of silver.
