In general, during the years of industrialization, a cluster of railway engineering was created. Production of locomotives, electric locomotives, freight and passenger cars, thermos cars, all-rolled wheels, locomotive bandages, switches, etc.has been established. A number of significant projects were introduced to meet the needs of domestic railway carriers, such as:

• JSC «Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty» for the production of modern maneuverable locomotives, deliveries are carried out both to the domestic market and for export.
• «Kurastyru Zauyty Electric Locomotive» LLP for the production of freight and passenger electric locomotives, deliveries are carried out both to the domestic market and for export.
• JSC «ZIKSTO» for the production and repair of freight cars. In January-May, 298 units were produced.
• «Kazakhstan Wagon Company» LLP for the production of freight cars. In January-May, 250 pieces were produced.
• «Tulpar Car Building Plant» LLP for the production of passenger cars with a capacity of 150 cars per year.
• «Prommashkomplekt» LLP for the production of all-rolled wheels with a capacity of up to 300,000 wheel pairs per year.
• «Cool Infinity» LLP for the production of innovative insulated wagons with export-oriented production.

All the above-mentioned enterprises have plans for the production of railway engineering products in 2021.
According to the data of enterprises, in 2021, there is a positive dynamics of production growth at all enterprises.
At the same time, 4 plants (LKZ, EKZ, Prommashkomplekt, Cool Infinity LLP) are export-oriented and supply their products mainly within the CIS countries.
