In the period from 13 to 17 February this year, the staff of the Center cluster development of JSC ‘Kazakhstan Industry Development Institute’ with a view to holding consultations on cluster development programme, visited Shymkent city, South-Kazakhstan region (hereinafter- SKR) and held working meetings with representatives EPA "Atameken" and a number of enterprises and organizations such as South Kazakhstan State pharmaceutical Academy, an Association of pharmaceutical industry of South Kazakhstan, JSC "HimFarm", a tourist information centre, which are potential candidates in participating selection territorial clusters.

During the meetings the businesses of these industries have received information about the cluster development and reaffirmed willingness to participate in cluster development programme of the REPUBLIC of KAZAKHSTAN.

Cluster policy implementation is carried out within the framework of GPIIR 2015-2016gg. and project between the Government of the REPUBLIC of KAZAKHSTAN and the World Bank, "enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan». The project involves the identification of 6 pilot territorial clusters within the selection process, which will be held in order to implement the cluster analysis cluster initiatives, and accompanying measures of State support and the necessary legal framework for the further implementation of the policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the cluster. The expected project duration is 2.5 years and entered into an active phase after the announcement of the competition for proposals the Ministry of investment and development of the REPUBLIC of KAZAKHSTAN.
