The main goal of the public presentation is to identify the directions for the development of clusters in order to form strategic working groups of enterprises, educational institutions and other interested parties to develop specific initiatives that will be included in the Action Plans for the development of selected territorial clusters.

Since January 2018 KIDI JSC, together with foreign consultants from the company Infide (Spain) has started extensive field work in the pilot clusters: More than 100 individual interviews with enterprise managers were conducted and an analysis of the current state of development of the selected clusters was carried out.

We remind you that since 2015, within the framework of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the World Bank, the project for Enchancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises is being implemented, which envisages the implementation of subcomponent 2.2. "Competitive sectors", aimed at stimulating the development of cluster policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan through the strengthening of institutional capacity through the provision of training and consulting services. The partner in the implementation of this subcomponent was JSC Kazakhstan Institute for Industry Development.

In the period from April 10 to June 8, 2017, applications for competitive selection of territorial clusters were received, following which 18 applications were submitted for the examination.

From June 2017 to March 2018, four training modules for training in various aspects of cluster development were conducted jointly with the European Cluster Improvement Fund, The Cluster Competitiveness Group, Inc. (USA) and Infide (Spain) in four cities of Kazakhstan: Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Karaganda.
