The volume of production of mechanical engineering products of the Republic of Kazakhstan in January 2021 amounted to 128.7 billion tenge, which in nominal terms is 29% higher than the same period in 2020. In the production of mechanical engineering products, the main share falls on the production of motor vehicles – 43.1 billion tenge, repair and installation of machinery and equipment-33.8 billion tenge, production of machinery and equipment not included in other categories - 17.3 billion tenge.
The IFO of mechanical engineering products in January 2021 was 116.2% compared to January 2020. It is worth noting a significant increase in the physical volume in the production of motor vehicles sector +21.2%. The growth of indicators was achieved as a result of state support in the form of cash tranches for the issuance of soft loans for the purchase of cars and the demand of the population, in 2021, the tranche amounted to 20 billion tenge.
Production of other vehicles in the IFO (+49.8). Due to the production of railway locomotives and rolling stock (+62.9%).
Production of machinery and equipment (+27.9%), positive dynamics was maintained due to the early introduction of the recycling fee and, as a result, the launch of a number of assembly plants – on the basis of JSC "Agromashholding KZ" tractors of the Chinese brand LOVOL, a project for the production of tractors of the Kirovets brand was introduced. As well as the growth of production volumes at existing facilities (for example, on the basis of the Kokshetau Kazakhstan-Belarus industrial and Technological Park of agricultural and municipal equipment), the production of agricultural equipment of the IFO (+362.3%).
Exports of mechanical engineering products in January-December 2020 compared to the same period in 2020 increased slightly by 14.5% and amounted to US $ 1,318 million. Main export countries: Russia, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan. A diverse list of machine-building products, mainly produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan (vehicles, batteries, transformers, solid-rolled wheels, bearings, etc.) was exported to the neighboring countries. Locomotives were exported to Moldova, and aircraft and telephones were re-exported to the Netherlands and the United States.
In January-December 2020, imports of mechanical engineering products increased slightly by 2.1%, amounting to $ 17,343 million (Figure 2). This is also due to the pandemic in the world, the temporary closure of borders and the decline in traffic and demand.
Main importing countries: South Korea, Russia, China.
For 12 months of 2020, the volume of the machine-building market of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 20.4 billion US dollars, where the share of OTP accounts for 15%, and the share of imported products – 85%.
The industry is characterized by a high territorial concentration in: Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Kostanay, Karaganda and Akmola regions.
