If you look at the north - eastern side of Astana, you will find a special economic zone. A special zone that unites industrial enterprises is called" Astana – new city".

The goal of the economic zone is to develop domestic production. In total, more than 4 thousand people work at 80 enterprises. Almost all enterprises here are exempt from land, income, and value added taxes. It also does not pay property tax. More than 70% of the goods produced by the state-owned enterprises are Kazakh-made.
