The pharmaceutical cluster of South Kazakhstan will open a research and development center, as well as an educational and production pharmacy

The First International Pharmaceutical Forum GLOBAL PHARM was held in Kazakhstan, organized on the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken".
The event was attended by representatives of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the largest foreign and domestic companies developing and producing medicines, as well as representatives of the international analytical agency IQVIA.
The second session of the forum was devoted to the development of the pharmaceutical business in Kazakhstan, where participants discussed the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry during the pandemic and the global financial crisis, attracting investment and developing their own raw materials base, the vision of the main market players and opportunities for the domestic pharmaceutical industry.
Speaking as a speaker at this session, the president of the Pharmaceutical Cluster of South Kazakhstan Nurmashev Bekaidar spoke about the implementation of a pilot project of cluster policy in the field of pharmacy.
According to the speaker, the pharmaceutical cluster will start implementing two projects next year. A research and development center will be created in Shymkent, as well as an educational and production pharmacy, which will be implemented on land plots provided by the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
At the end of the forum, the parties came to the conclusion that Kazakhstan has all the opportunities for the development of the pharmaceutical industry, achieving an ambitious goal – to increase the share of its own pharmaceutical production in the country to 50%.
In addition, the parties expressed interest in mutual cooperation, expansion of investment cooperation and localization of production through technology transfer in the pharmaceutical industry of Kazakhstan.

The development of the pharmaceutical industry in the South Kazakhstan region began in 1823, due to the presence of unique plant raw materials. During the Soviet Union, educational and scientific pharmaceutical infrastructure developed in the region.
The cluster's industry affiliation is the production of medicines (drugs), dietary supplements and medical devices (IMN), as well as wholesale and retail trade in pharmaceuticals.

JSC "Himpharm", LLP "Zerde-Phyto", LLP "Planta", LLP "Kazmedpribor", LLP "Ecopharminternational", LLP "NPC Rauan".
The cluster produces the following products: medicines of tablet, injection forms and plant origin, dietary supplements, medical products, furniture and specialized equipment.
