The Supplier Development Service project will continue in 2022

On February 1 of this year, within the framework of the Supplier Development Project in Kazakhstan "PRPC", implemented by the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the financial support of the World Bank in partnership with JSC "Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center "QazIndustry", "Euroconsultants SA – branch in Kazakhstan", the final online conference on "Supplier Development Project in Kazakhstan (hereinafter - PRPC) was held.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the World Bank, domestic enterprises such as Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Kazzinc LLP, ERG, NCOC, TCO and KPO.

The speakers discussed the issues of the Project to Increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises –SMEs), - difficulties and achievements during the pandemic, the work and further development of the Project.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export "QazIndustry" Aidar Kakimzhanov noted that QazIndustry plans to continue working with the participants of the Supplier Development Service project - these are more than 200 domestic companies, 53 accredited and 147 non-accredited enterprises and will provide support and assistance in their accreditation and obtaining international certificates.

"The mechanism of the PSA will consist in "nurturing" a domestic supplier on personal initiative, or on the initiative of a large customer by developing an Individual development map based on an EFQM assessment, providing advice, holding seminars and providing support tools. The logical outcome of the implementation of all measures will be the conclusion of contracts for the supply of TRU. Taking into account the words of the Head of State about the development and support of SMEs, we believe that the PSA will increase the competitiveness of our business," Aidar Kakimzhanov said.

QazIndustry intends to act as an accelerator for domestic companies, which will allow to accumulate the efforts of all interested parties, and ensure the qualitative growth of enterprises on the one hand, and will provide financial instruments for the modernization of production. At the same time, the final goal of the accelerator will be the conclusion of a supply contract with a large customer.

Recall that within the framework of the project to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan, a project of the Supplier Development Service has been implemented since 2019. This project is aimed at expanding the market relations of domestic suppliers with Customers by providing analytical services, consulting, support and reimbursement of accreditation costs.

The main measure of state support for selected SMEs, motivating organizations to participate in the Project, was reimbursement of certification costs (including expensive certificates required for the sale of goods and services of TNCs in the oil and gas and mining and metallurgical sectors of production).

Moreover, within the framework of the PSA, work is underway to accredit domestic enterprises in order to interact with large buyers. During the reporting period of 2021, 33 companies received the status of an accredited supplier from such large customers as KPO, TCO, NCOC, ArcelorMittal, Kazakhmys. Thus, during the joint work of the Company and the Consultant, contracts were concluded with TNCs within the framework of the Project.
