Industrial development of Akmola region

Akmola region is located in Northern Kazakhstan and is an agricultural and industrial region. The administrative center of the region is the city of Kokshetau. It borders on Kostanay region in the west, North Kazakhstan region in the north, Pavlodar region in the east and Karaganda region in the south.

The region is located in close proximity to such developed regions of Russia as the Urals, Tyumen, Tomsk, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, with which there are established long-term economic ties.

The volume of the gross regional product of the region for 2021 amounted to 2,678.1 billion tenge (Figure 1).

The volume of industrial production in the region by the end of 2021 amounted to 1,138.9 billion tenge, including 931.3 billion tenge – manufacturing industry, whose share in the total volume of industrial production reached 82% (Figure 2).

In 2021, the turnover of mutual trade of the Akmola region amounted to 1,290.1 million US dollars. Of these, imports amounted to 687 million US dollars, exports – 603.1 million US dollars (Figure 3).

In 2010-2021, 112 projects worth 428.8 billion tenge were commissioned within the framework of the Industrialization Map and the Entrepreneurship Support Map of Akmola region, more than 11 thousand permanent jobs were created. Of the projects introduced, 87 projects totaling 390 billion tenge belong to the manufacturing industry, 9,951 permanent jobs have been created. At the same time, among the projects of the manufacturing industry, the food industry is the leader in terms of the number of projects introduced (35 projects or 40%) for a total of 94.3 billion tenge, the MMC is the leader in terms of investments with 8 projects for a total of 156.2 billion tenge.

In the perspective of the region until 2025, a common pool of 69 investment projects worth 426.4 billion tenge has been formed, with the creation of more than 6.9 thousand permanent jobs.

This year, it is planned to launch 22 projects worth 209.2 billion tenge, with the creation of 2,750 jobs, of which 5 projects totaling 47.2 billion tenge have already been commissioned, 483 permanent jobs have been created.

The main area of projects being introduced in the region in 2022 is the food industry and the construction industry.

 

Thus, the enterprises plan to establish the production of agricultural machinery, food, construction materials.
