JSC “Almaty Yeast Plant”
Enterprises in Kazakhstan are reimbursed for the cost of purchased equipment. The new measure, introduced by QazIndustry on May 12 of this year, is designed to encourage enterprises to modernize by updating their technological park. KCE reimburses up to 40% of the expenses incurred by enterprises.
According to the QazIndustry Business Stimulation Directorate, from May 13 to July 11, the center received 188 applications for the provision of new types of expenses from 52 enterprises. At the moment, funds have been reimbursed for seven applications from five productions amounting to 121 million tenge.
The “first swallows” in providing new types of expenses were JSC “Almaty Yeast Plant,” companies “Arnatex,” “Technoblock,” “Gefest Pro,” and “Compass solutions Ltd.”
We contacted the management of the Almaty Yeast Plant and found out how the new measure affects the development of the enterprise. The reimbursement amount was 32.5 million tenge.
“Our plant is the only specialized enterprise in Kazakhstan for the production of baking pressed and dried yeast. This is a socially significant product. The plant's capacity is 12 thousand tons of pressed yeast. That is, we can easily supply yeast to the entire Kazakhstan,” says Zhannat Nuftiyeva, senior economist of JSC “Almaty Yeast Plant.”
The enterprise, with a 55-year history, produces eight types of products. The plant employs 94 people. This year, the plant developed a new type of product—feed yeast to enrich the diet of animals and birds, which began to be sold to agricultural producers. Such yeast is exported to Uzbekistan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.
“Of course, for such production, modernization is necessary by replacing outdated equipment with new ones to increase the competitiveness of the products produced,” continues Zhannat Nurgaliyevna. “In the future, we want to digitize production. For now, we have taken advantage of the new type of expense for purchasing equipment from QazIndustry. Previously, we acquired a packaging machine, and we were reimbursed 40% of the cost of its purchase. This form of state support is very effective. The reimbursed part of the funds will allow our plant to purchase new equipment and expensive spare parts to implement the phased modernization of the main production, as the wear and tear of fixed assets is about 40%. Undoubtedly, this will increase labor productivity and enhance our competitiveness as a Kazakhstani manufacturer.”
This is the second appeal of ADZ to QazIndustry. In 2022, the enterprise received 9.3 million tenge from KCE as reimbursement for the cost of the chief installation of the yeast drying line.
Let us remind you that detailed information on the reimbursement of enterprise expenses can be found on the website qazindustry.gov.kz or by participating in Open Days at the QazIndustry office (city of Astana, Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, 17, block E) every Tuesday and Thursday.
