The management and representatives of the furniture industry enterprises such as “Almatinskaya mebelnaya fabrika” LLP, “CARA company” LLP, “Tornado Plus” LLP, “DSP-Centre”, “Lam Tech” LLP, “Art-Mebel” LLP, “Asia Mebel” TH LLP, “Blum Central Asia” LLP, as well as the management of Furniture and Wood Industry Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the representatives of the Building Technical College of Almaty and Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty city took part in the meeting.

During the meeting the worldwide trends were considered in the furniture industry, the statics and analytical situation review in the region were given, the sector problems and development prospects were discussed.

 

Special focus was on issues such as supply shortage of plate materials, problem of product sales, delivery cost, difficulties in logistics, and necessity of technology/equipment modernization, skilled professional shortage and weak educational base, national standard development and introduction need, the absence of infrastructure and other.

Note: The implementation of cluster policy is carried out within the State program of industrial-innovative development (SPIID) of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019 and the project between the governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the World Bank “Improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses”. It is expected to determine six pilot territorial clusters within the project to be performed the cluster analysis for the purposes of the cluster initiative; also, the collateral measures of state support and necessary base were drafted for further implementation of cluster policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
