According to the results of 2020, for the first time in 10 years of industrialization, the contribution of the manufacturing industry to the development of the economy exceeded the share of the mining industry, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said today during the annual Address to the people of Kazakhstan at a joint session of the chambers of Parliament.

– We need to continue working on the diversification of the economy, expanding the range of manufactured goods and the geography of exports. The medium-term goal is to increase the export of manufacturing industry by 1.5 times, to $ 24 billion, and labor productivity by 30% by 2025, " the head of state noted.
The President also spoke about the law "On Industrial Policy" being developed, which, in his opinion, should provide answers to the questions facing the manufacturing sector. And one of them is the problem of access to raw materials. The Head of State declares the need to introduce a simple rule – the price of raw materials for the domestic industry should be affordable, and the volume should be sufficient.

"By the end of the year, the Government should find the best solution to this important task," Kassym – Jomart Tokayev instructed. — At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the resource potential of our country is not fully disclosed, geological knowledge remains at a low level.
The Head of State also spoke about digitalization. In his opinion, the transfer of modern digital technologies, the introduction of elements of Industry 4.0 are extremely important for Kazakhstan. We must actively work with our strategic partners abroad, the President believes.
— At the same time, it is important to cultivate and strengthen the domestic IT sector. The country needs young, educated, motivated personnel. Within the framework of the National Project on Digitalization, it is necessary to train at least 100 thousand highly qualified IT specialists, " the Head of State is sure.
The export of services and goods of the digital industry should reach at least $ 500 million by 2025. This will require a complete "digital reboot" of the public sector. The main and long-standing problem here is the lack of effective integration of information systems of state bodies. This issue requires a radical, speedy solution, the president said.
