On June 16-17, 2022, a panel session and a dialogue platform were held within the framework of the AMM on the development of intra-country value through the procurement of subsoil users of the mining complex.
These events were attended by representatives of QazIndustry, Haller Lomax, subsoil user companies - Kazzinc LLP, ERG, KazMinerals, associations of the Union of Manufacturing Industry of Kazakhstan and Ecozher, and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the panel session, the participants discussed issues related to the further development of in-country value, in particular projects to amend regulatory documents regulating in-country activities, the development of sustainable procurement within the ESG agenda.
During the discussion, the head of the Directorate for the Development and Monitoring of Local Content of QazIndustry, Kalen Bauyrzhan, reported on the current status of work on intra–country value and noted that at the moment a draft "Program for the development of intra-country value and export-oriented industries" has been developed, which is aimed at stimulating the competitiveness of domestic producers. While the dialogue platform discussed the issues faced by suppliers and subsoil users in the procurement process.
Each subsurface user answered the questions and explained how the procurement process works in the company. In general, the participants noted the importance of such events, and organize a similar event in the future together with QazIndustry. The participants also expressed their willingness to actively cooperate with all enterprises to discuss the development of in-country value.
